Last time I told you how you could enter Yahoo chat rooms to enjoy 100% free chat. I also gave you a few tips to help you make the best out of your very first Yahoo online chatting room experience. Today I want to write a review of this service offered by Yahoo!.

I've used Yahoo! chat rooms many times and I know, like all the other people who've spent at least as much time as I have over there, that it can be both a great or a really awful experience. Having a Yahoo! ID is not enough to use Yahoo! chat rooms. You have to download Yahoo! messenger and then you have to find your way through the menu until you find the entry that opens the window that leads to Yahoo! Chat. By not providing a service that's rapidly accessible Yahoo! tells us that this is not one of their priority and maybe sometime in a not so distant future that service might be no longer available. I think they should try and move the entry to the chat rooms in the Yahoo! Messenger menu in a way that lets you find it without having to search or click too much. Then there's word verification or captcha as some call it. Word verification is such a pain. I suppose the person who came up with that idea was working for one of Yahoo! chat's competitors. He or she came up with the ultimate idea that will irk regular Yahoo! Chat users from the chat rooms for good: "Ask them to go through captcha each time they want to get in a room he thought". Then to make the rest of the team accept the idea he told them that it would stop the bots. Since I guess most of the complaints that Yahoo! gets about its chat rooms concern bots they thought it was a great idea. Of course it's a brilliant idea if you want to make a real chatter's life miserable. Not only do bots still infest the rooms but you as a person have to spend much more time to go from one room to another trying to find one with real people before you get tired of the captcha and try some other free chat service instead. So since this is a review I'll say that the captcha was the worst idea ever and if the people at Yahoo! know what they're doing they'll get rid of it before I finish typing this post because everybody can tell that it's absolutely useless.

So the service is not easily accessible, is it any good? Is the chat worth the trouble? Well for many people who try it the chat is not worth anything because they never get to chat with a real person. For those lucky enough to actually find people inside the rooms the chat is not always worth it either but at least we can't blame it on Yahoo!. If you want a good chat experience you have to go into the right room at the right time and be able to catch people's attention so they can want to chat with you. A good room is usually not one under "Romance" and a good time is usually at night. Remember if you live in the US and you want to chat with people in India, at night for them is during daytime for you.

Like most free chat rooms Yahoo!'s are populated with a bunch of bored people. Notice bored doesn't mean boring. Also the male population is higher than the female population but that's the way the internet is in general. So if you really want a lot of people to chat with you in those room you either have to be a female or pretend to be one... Hopefully for me I don't need to pretend. If you don't want to chat with guys or if you don't want girls to think that you're also a girl there's hope for you because there are a few women like myself over there. One tip you should be nice and pay attention to what they have to say otherwise they might not like chatting with you, remember you're one in a million other guys wanting to chat with them.

Yahoo! chat rooms are for adults 18 and over but you'll find many minors in there. Of course they provide false information to Yahoo! about their age to be able to get into the rooms. There is also a large population of chatters wanting to cyber and there are not only males.

Yahoo chat rooms can be really boring at times, you can spend lots and lots of time room hoping without ever finding anybody interesting to chat with. But with luck you might randomly land on some really cool people.

If you're a woman looking for males to chat with Yahoo chat is probably the place for you, there are so many of them over there that you won't know which one to choose. If you're a male there is some hope for you if you can last longer than the average guy over there. Using the free yahoo chat rooms online can be fun especially if you are having a really boring and lonely time in front of the computer.
